Stay away from Woodboys. They do not stand behind their products. Initially it went fine. Their installers were top-notch and this review does not reflect the work that they did, and is the reason for the only star they get. They are more expensive than others but we went with them due to other reviews and because of the supposed Christian witness on their website. We purchased a floor from them that was supposed to be one of the most durable they carry. After a short while the floor began to show extreme wear in our higher traffic areas and especially under our dining room table. We are not pain in the neck perfectionists finding fault with every little thing. Our floor is a disaster and an embarrassment. The pictures are a small example of the extent of the floor damage. Throughout whole area from the door through our living area the finish has worn out. Even cracking in one spot. We went to Woodboys and was sent a so called 'independent inspector". He produced a report that was an absolute fabrication. Citing excuses such as the wear was a result of: (1) my mother in law's wheelchair, even though he was told that she almost never leaves her room (where there is no wear), and does not go in the affected areas, and (2) dust under the pads on the table. Those pad are cleaned frequently and replaced often, and (3) dog nails. My wife trims the dogs nails herself with a dremel, and (4) sand. Our floor is vacuumed often and cleaned with a cleaner, etc. Then Christopher came to my home and proceeded to do the same thing, offering one absurd unsubstantiated excuse after another. Then they sent a piece of the floor to be tested. Then not a word for "four months". Shaw, who is the company that owns Anderson who made the flooring, has a long history including 75 BBB complaints for not excepting culpability for it's products, of course said there is nothing wrong with the floor. Woodboys states that evidently normal household dirt and any dog ownership constitutes abuse. Now, Woodboys is hiding behind that report, so that they are not liable for the floor that THEY sold us. They do not stand behind what they sell.
WOW! Had wood flooring installed and could not be happier. Selection was great, but customer service was even better. I almost forgot you could actually have professionals that were knowledgeable about the products they sold. Chris was great and the floors look fantastic. Every business should run this well. We installed hardwood flooring through them 1.5 years ago to the tune of an $8000 disaster. The patches done in the common areas were carried out using unacclimatized wood (they said it was "sealed on all sides so it would be fine" because apparently thermodynamics doesn't apply to polyurethane). Those patches are now surrounded entirely by 1/8" cracks which happily absorb moisture every time we use a Swiffer. On the stairs we requested wood treads and risers...The person who cut the angles apparently failed geometry because they left uneven 1/2" gaps. The "inspector" tried to argue that they were "expansion gaps" that would be covered with quarter round. 1- an expansion gap needs to be an even gap between the floor boards and the wall. You'd never have part of the board touching and part with a 1/2" gap and 2- who the heck puts expansion gaps on stairs?? Look at Google images. Wood finish steps do not have quarter round to hide gaps. This is a horrible look and incredibly unprofessional looking. The best part was they DIDNT EVEN FIX IT. They just dropped off the quarter round on the ground in my driveway (I nearly drove over it) and never installed it...I had to do it myself. Then the top floor had white oak installed but no attempt to fill any knot holes before finishing. When we complained about the knuckle-deep holes, they crammed in dried out putty over the finished surface, which all came out the very first time I cleaned the floor. Awesome. Then they fraudantly charged my credit card even more money for the horrible patches they did. All in all, I've got cracks in the finish, deep knotholes, places where they sanded too deep, and a ridiculous looking staircase for $8,000. Stay far, far away.
Woodboys are FANTASTIC! I had them install wood flooring in my master bedroom to match the hard wood flooring throughout the house. The match was perfect. The price was excellent and the workmanship great. Christopher was so easy to work with. The floor looks so nice and all I get are compliments. Thank you for a job well done.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the work that Woodboys did in my home. I had them install new stairs and flooring in my upstairs to match my existing downstairs flooring. The salesman Christopher was very courteous and knowledgeable. He was able to identify my existing hardwood flooring that was already installed throughout my downstairs. The installers were very meticulous. I would definitely recommend!
